  When I paid the bill in the morning, the owner snatched the card machine from me when the option to pay in GBP or euros came up and pressed the euro button. After much debate, she told me that everyone pays Euros. A quick call to barclaycard to dispute the transaction quickly sorted that out.

  Rooms date from the 1970's as does the general attitude off the staff (think Basil Fawlty) no thermostatic shower mixers in the bath/shower.

  The surly barman tried to blatantly overcharge me by €10 for two drinks and then when my friend bought 3 beers he tried to charge for six, and argued about it.

  The barman was rude and first tried to short change us. Then he started adding drinks to our bill that we didn't have. He did this more than once, despite being caught out.

  Wonderful views and excellent, friendly service. Bed comfortable and room clean. First class restaurant serving very generous portions. Would highly recommend.

  Clean rooms, great view from my room. Nice bar and restaurant. I would stay here again!
